Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children had a little extra help recently from two of Northern Ireland’s top chefs at a Parental Support Weekend. During the event especially for parents with a child diagnosed with cancer, parents were treated to a fantastic cookery Masterclass facilitated by Michael Deane and Christopher Fearon.

The session took place at the charity’s respite centre Narnia in Newcastle, Co Down and parents happily tucked into a mouth-watering menu of Basil Pesto Pasta Salad, Parmesan, Pine Nuts & Parma Ham, followed by Classic Chicken Chasseur and finishing with Lemon Drizzle Cake and Raspberry Cream.

Mums and dads had a fantastic time meeting other parents and enjoying a much-needed break away from the normal stresses of coping with a child who has cancer. Thanks to the Masterclass hints and tips, everyone left armed with fabulous recipes for all the family to enjoy.
