Deanes at Queens has been awarded the prestigious Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide 2015.

The Bib Gourmand is awarded to restaurants which offer "good food at moderate prices."

Commenting, restaurateur Michael Deane said: "this is a great and very fitting accolade for Deanes at Queens, where chef Chris Fearon and team are consistently producing top class food at very reasonable prices."

No Michelin stars were awarded in Northern Ireland in the 2015 guide.

"It is disappointing that Northern Ireland has missed out on a Michelin star this year," said Michael. "There is some outstanding food being produced and served here, not just at Deanes restaurants but at others also.

"It’s no secret that I want to achieve a Michelin star for Deanes EIPIC but I was under no illusion that it would happen within four months of the restaurant opening. Back in January I said that I hoped to see three or four stars in Northern Ireland over the next few years and my aspiration is that Deanes EIPIC will display one of them.

"Regardless of today's news it's business as usual and we are delighted with how Deanes EIPIC has been received to date.  Head chef Danni Barry and the team are producing an exceptional experience at the restaurant, taking diners on a culinary journey that will live on in their minds long after the meal is over and they are to be applauded for their efforts."
