Deanes Dazzles at Dublin Restaurant Awards Ceremony
Deanes restaurants in Belfast scooped a clutch of top awards at the FOOD&WINE Magazine 2016 gala lunch in Dublin on Sunday.
Chef Danni Barry of Deanes EIPIC took the title Chef of the Year in Ireland and Chef/Proprietor Michael Deane was named Entrepreneur of The Year in Ireland. Deanes EIPIC was hailed the Best Restaurant in Ulster and Head Chef Danni Barry was voted Best Chef in Ulster.
Chef Danni Barry heads up the Michelin Starred Deanes EIPIC in Belfast, one of only two restaurants in Northern Ireland which hold a Michelin Star.
The Entrepreneur Award went to Michael Deane for his contribution to Ireland’s restaurant landscape. He heads up the family run business which now operates seven eateries across the city and is on the brink of celebrating 20 years in business in Belfast.
Speaking after the occasion Michael Deane said “It has truly been Deanes day at this prestigious annual event in the restaurant calendar. I am absolutely delighted that the team at Deanes have been recognised at this level for our daily dedication to excellence across our brand.”
He added “but it is important to remember that this is not just an award for Deanes but also for the city of Belfast. We continuously strive to improve standards in our business given the sophistication of our well-travelled customers and the clear growth in tourism in the province.”
